We had a great time celebrating fichee-chambalala which is Sidama new year festival. The event held at Unity park, Addis Ababa and different events occurered where the higher governmental officials attended

On that memorable day, alongside the discussions on the five-year strategic plan, the fifth-round General Assembly in November 2023 also featured a special segment dedicated to recognition. This time was set aside to honor and acknowledge the contributions and achievements of individuals within the Sidaama community in Addis Ababa. From community leaders and volunteers to advocates and innovators, we celebrated their invaluable efforts in advancing our collective goals and enriching our community's fabric. As we gathered to chart our course for the future, it was important to pause and express gratitude to those whose dedication and passion have made a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
We were thrilled to host the grand celebration of Fiche Camballa in Addis Ababa in 2023, where esteemed government officials joined community members to honor the cherished traditions of the Sidaama people. Against the backdrop of our capital city, the event showcased a day of vibrant festivities, including traditional ceremonies, captivating performances, artisanal exhibitions, gastronomic delights, and inspiring addresses from government leaders reaffirming their commitment to cultural preservation. It was a moment of unity, diversity, and pride as we came together to celebrate the rich heritage of Ethiopia.
